The opportunity

Be the difference in aged care, with the opportunity to work Part- time at our Mt Warrigal home. In this position you will have the opportunity to bring your skills and knowledge to provide well presented, nutritional meals for our residents, creating a good food and dining experience. Developing your growth within the industry you will manage all aspects of the catering and food production including supervision of catering staff.

The requirements

  • Part time – 2 month Contract of 24hrs per week – required roster:
    • Week 1 – 0600-1430 on Monday, Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday
    • Week 2 – 0600-1430 on Monday and Wednesday
  • Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or similar
  • Food Safety Supervisor Certificate
  • Extensive cooking experience in a commercial environment
  • Demonstrated experience in the preparation of bulk cooking.
  • Experience in ordering stock within budget guidelines.
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal with demonstrated interpersonal skills and empathy with older people.
  • Demonstrated organisational skills and meeting deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to direct and supervise the work of others.
  • An understanding of and an ability to deal with Work Health and Safety issues.
  • Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplined team.
  • Commitment to workplace equity issues.
  • Ensure the food service complies with the requirements of the NSW Food Authority
  • First aid certificate

Desirable

  • Previous experience in the Aged Care Industry and/or related services
