The Role

Applications are invited from qualified classroom teachers for a specialist role teaching VCE Economics/Commerce at our Wheelers Hill Campus. The candidate will be enthusiastic, possess a forward-thinking mindset, and demonstrate aspirational teaching practices.

This is a full-time permanent position commencing January 2027. The successful applicant will demonstrate a passion for engaging and challenging students and for utilising learning technologies. This position is for an educator with expertise in VCE Economics/Commerce. Versatility to draw upon skills and experience teaching another VCE Commerce subject will be an advantage.

Key Duties

  • Review and assess students at the beginning of each program
  • Integrate Formative Practice Techniques
  • Provide a flexible program that caters for individual students
  • Deliver learning programs that demonstrate a research-based knowledge of how students learn
  • Evaluate personal teaching and learning programs including feedback from students and assessment data to inform planning
  • Model high expectations to enable a safe and supportive classroom culture
  • Provide reports within school standards and timelines
  • Actively participate in professional development activities
  • Embrace a culture of collaboration to enhance student learning
  • Model and live the Caulfield Grammar School values and behaviours

Skills and Experience

  • Experience in teaching VCE Economics is essential. Versatility to teach another VCE Commerce subject will be an advantage.
  • Genuine enthusiasm for teaching and commitment to students’ academic and personal growth
  • Outstanding communication skills and the ability to effectively and engage with students, colleagues, and parents.
  • Committed to ongoing professional development, keeping up-to-date with current economic trends and developments, and maintaining a proactive attitude.
  • Holds a current VIT Registration along with specialised teaching qualifications in Commerce or related fields.
