Salary: $67,000 - $80,000

Thai Thai Restaurant has been serving authentic Thai cuisine for over 15 years. With dine-in, takeaway, delivery, and catering services, we are dedicated to offering our guests the true taste of Thailand.

We are now seeking passionate and experienced professionals to join our team in the following roles:

Waiter

Responsible for providing high-quality table service and ensuring guests enjoy a warm and authentic Thai dining experience.

Key Duties:

  • Prepare dining areas by setting tables neatly and ensuring the space reflects a welcoming Thai atmosphere
  • Welcome guests with genuine Thai-style hospitality, provide menus, explain specials, and answer questions about dishes and drinks
  • Record guest food and drink selections clearly and pass orders efficiently to the kitchen and bar
  • Deliver meals and beverages promptly, ensuring presentation is maintained and guests’ needs are met throughout service
  • Assist guests with beverage service, including opening wine and pouring drinks at the table
  • Remove used plates and cutlery quickly and discreetly, keeping tables ready for the next course or new guests
  • Monitor tables, replenish drinks when required, and keep glassware and table settings refreshed
  • Process bills accurately through the POS system and handle both cash and card transactions with care
  • Suggest beverages, including wines, that best pair with the flavours of Thai dishes for a complete dining experience

Requirements:

  • Hold a relevant qualification equivalent to an AQF Certificate II with at least one year of relevant work experience; OR hold an AQF Certificate III with one year of post-qualification experience (20+ hours/week); Alternatively, at least one year of relevant experience may substitute for formal qualifications.
  • Strong table service and customer service skills.
  • Knowledge of Thai cuisine, ingredients and flavours.
  • Ability to explain menu items and recommend food and beverages.
  • Ability to accurately take orders and use POS systems.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a busy restaurant and as part of a team.

Cook

Responsible for preparing and cooking authentic Thai dishes while maintaining food quality and consistency.

Key Duties:

  • Prepare and cook a wide range of traditional Thai dishes including curries, stir-fries, soups, salads, and grilled items according to recipes and standards
  • Ensure all dishes are presented consistently and meet quality expectations
  • Prepare fresh ingredients, curry pastes, sauces, garnishes, and condiments daily
  • Monitor cooking equipment, regulate temperatures, and maintain kitchen efficiency during busy service times
  • Check the freshness and quality of ingredients before use and store food safely according to hygiene standards
  • Comply with food safety, cleanliness, and occupational health requirements in all kitchen operations
  • Work collaboratively with other kitchen staff to ensure timely service and smooth workflow
  • Assist with the creation of daily specials or seasonal dishes when required

Requirements:

  • Hold a relevant qualification equivalent to an AQF Certificate III (including two years of on-the-job training); OR hold an AQF Certificate IV with at least one year of relevant work experience; Alternatively, at least three years of relevant experience may substitute for formal
  • qualifications.
  • Strong cooking skills and knowledge of Thai cuisine.
  • Knowledge of Thai herbs, spices, curry pastes and other ingredients.
  • Ability to prepare and cook a range of Thai dishes consistently.
  • Ability to safely operate commercial kitchen equipment.
  • Knowledge of food safety, hygiene and kitchen procedures.

Kitchenhand

Responsible for supporting the kitchen team with food preparation, kitchen operations, cleaning and maintaining a safe and hygienic environment at Thai Thai Restaurant.

Key Duties:

  • Clean and maintain kitchen, food preparation and storage areas to ensure a safe and hygienic working environment.
  • Wash, clean and sanitise cooking equipment, utensils, dishes, cutlery and other kitchen items.
  • Wash, peel, cut and prepare vegetables, herbs, fruits and other ingredients used in Thai cuisine.
  • Assist with the preparation of basic ingredients, salads, garnishes, sauces, condiments and other food items under the direction of the cooks.
  • Assist cooks with food preparation for dine-in, takeaway, delivery and catering orders.
  • Portion and organise ingredients and ensure prepared food items are ready for service.
  • Assist with basic cooking, heating, toasting and reheating of food items as required and under instruction.
  • Receive, unpack and store food supplies appropriately, following stock rotation and food safety procedures.
  • Assist in maintaining adequate supplies of clean utensils, plates, containers and kitchen equipment during busy service periods.
  • Remove rubbish and maintain clean and orderly kitchen and storage areas.
  • Follow food safety, hygiene and occupational health and safety procedures at all times.
  • Assist the kitchen team with other general kitchen duties as required.

Requirements:

  • AQF Certificate I; or completed compulsory secondary education and at least one year of full- time relevant work experience.
  • Basic food preparation skills.
  • Basic knowledge of ingredients commonly used in Thai cuisine.
  • Understanding food hygiene and safe food handling requirements.
  • Ability to safely use and clean basic kitchen equipment.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work efficiently as part of a kitchen team.
