Job Details About the Client Our client is an established Australian organisation with a diverse portfolio of businesses across Queensland. As the organisation continues to grow, they are looking to add an experienced Assistant Accountant to their Brisbane-based finance team. This is a well-rounded opportunity for someone looking to join an established business, work alongside an experienced finance team and gain exposure across a broad range of accounting functions. About the Role Reporting to the Accounting Manager, you will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day accounting function and ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting. The role offers plenty of variety, with involvement across month-end, reconciliations, reporting, budgeting, taxation and payroll. You will work closely with the wider finance team and a range of internal stakeholders, providing accurate financial information and helping resolve issues as they arise. Your Responsibilities Prepare monthly financial and management reports; Complete bank and balance sheet reconciliations; Prepare journals and maintain the general ledger; Assist with month-end reporting and variance analysis; Support budgeting, reforecasting, BAS and taxation requirements; and Review payroll, intercompany transactions and audit requirements. What we're looking for 3+ years' experience in an Assistant Accountant or similar role; Relevant accounting qualification; Strong general ledger and reconciliation experience; Advanced Excel skills and experience with accounting systems; Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage competing priorities; and Collaborative team player who takes ownership and is motivated to grow with the business.
