The Opportunity \n

The Maribyrnong Aquatic Centre (MAC) is looking for passionate and energetic individuals to join our MACquaEd team, providing swimming lessons to schools and members of a variety of ages and abilities. We are looking for existing qualified teachers, as well as the right candidate to support in obtaining qualifications.

Key Responsibilities \n

• Create a positive and engaging experience for swimmers and their families by building strong relationships and clear communication.
\n
• Help make every lesson a safe, welcoming, and fun environment where participants can learn and grow with confidence.
\n
• Continuously build your skills through training and professional development to become a confident and inspiring swim teacher.
\n
• Teach swimming and water safety skills that help children gain confidence, develop lifelong abilities, and progress through the Swim and Survive program.
\n
• Deliver classes on schedule, ensuring participants enjoy a consistent and high-quality learning experience.
\n
• Monitor participant progress and celebrate achievements by helping swimmers move through the appropriate program levels as they develop.
\n
• Support participants with questions or challenges, providing encouragement and guidance to help them succeed.
\n
• Be an active member of a passionate team by participating in workshops, team meetings, and ongoing training opportunities.

About You \n

Make a real difference while building valuable skills. As a Swim Teacher, you'll help children develop confidence, swimming ability, and essential water safety skills in a fun and supportive environment. You'll work as part of an energetic team, receive ongoing training and development opportunities, and play an important role in creating positive experiences for local families.

\n

Applicants should have availability across weekday and weekends, mornings, afternoons and evenings.

\n

To be considered for this role, you will have the following essential qualifications:

\n

• Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety (Austswim, SCTA or LSV)
\n
• CPR
\n
• Level 2 First Aid
\n
• Valid Working with Children Check (employment version)
\n
• No relevant criminal record found in a police check.
\n
