Geotechnical Engineer

The Geotechnical Engineer plays a crucial role in the delivery of projects, ensuring all work outputs are of a high technical standard and quality-assured. This position involves managing a variety of tasks in support of the instrumentation and monitoring department. The successful candidate will be instrumental in overseeing projects and will also engage in hands-on work at mining sites, write and update software test scripts, and provide software support to clients.

Duties:

• Liaise with clients to understand their objectives and requirements.
• Conduct analysis to explore alternative options for client satisfaction.
• Carry out cost assessments and obtain competitive pricing from suppliers.
• Prepare and submit project proposals for management review.
• Update and resubmit quotations to clients as needed.
• Place orders for instruments and components from selected suppliers.
• Verify receipt of supplies against order confirmations.
• Package and arrange delivery of instruments and components.

Skills and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering or Geology
• White card for construction site safety compliance.
• Solid knowledge of instrumentation systems and components.
• Understanding of electrical and electronic engineering principles.
• Aptitude for learning programming languages and scripts.
• Ability to install and maintain instrumentation systems.
• Skill in data acquisition and processing software.
