A newly established underwriting agency is building its Sydney team and is seeking a Senior Strata Underwriter to play a key role in shaping its strata portfolio from the ground up.
This is a rare opportunity to join a start-up underwriting agency at an early stage — helping build broker relationships, define underwriting appetite, and grow a book in one of the most active corners of the Australian insurance market.

The Role

  • Underwrite a portfolio of Residential & Commercial Strata risks, applying strong technical judgement across pricing, terms and risk selection
  • Build and manage relationships with brokers and strata managers nationally
  • Represent the agency at industry events, broker meetings and within the wider strata community
  • Contribute to the development of underwriting guidelines and appetite as the agency scales
  • Work closely with leadership to help shape the direction of the strata book

About You

  • Proven experience underwriting Property and/or large Strata risk
  • Strong technical underwriting skills with sound commercial judgement
  • Genuine enjoyment of broker engagement, relationship-building and networking
  • Established relationships within the Strata / Broker community highly regarded
  • Comfortable operating in a lean, fast-moving start-up environment
  • Self-motivated with an entrepreneurial mindset — this is a chance to build something, not just administer an existing book
