Production & Manufacturing Manager

FacadeX is seeking an experienced, hands‑on Production & Manufacturing Manager to lead our manufacturing facility in Sunshine West.

Our factory manufactures architectural cladding materials and associated components for major commercial construction projects. Leading a team of approximately 20 employees, you will take ownership of safety, people, production, quality, efficiency and delivery performance.

This is a key leadership position for someone who enjoys being close to the operation, solving problems and continuously improving the way a factory performs.

The Role

You will be responsible for:

• Leading, coordinating and developing a factory workforce of approximately 20 employees.
• Creating a strong culture of safety, teamwork, accountability and ownership.
• Taking responsibility for factory OHS requirements, including compliance, procedures, training, hazard identification and corrective actions.
• Planning and scheduling production in a fast-moving, job-shop manufacturing environment.
• Translating construction programs and site requirements into practical manufacturing schedules.
• Allocating labour, machinery and resources to maximise productivity and meet changing priorities.
• Reviewing fabrication and construction drawings and ensuring materials are manufactured in the correct sequence.
• Understanding manufacturing lead times and ensuring these are incorporated into project planning.
• Coordinating deliveries across multiple construction sites efficiently and cost‑effectively.
• Monitoring labour, production, quality and workflows to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Driving continuous improvement across production methods, labour utilisation, safety, quality and factory processes.
• Responding quickly when site programs, project priorities or delivery requirements change.
• Identifying production risks early and presenting practical solutions before they become project issues.
• Challenging unrealistic deadlines where necessary and working with project teams to establish achievable outcomes.
• Preparing clear monthly reports covering production, labour, efficiency, safety and overall factory performance.
• Working closely with Project Managers, Construction Management, Procurement, Logistics and senior management.

About You

You will ideally bring:

• Strong manufacturing experience, preferably within construction products, cladding, fabrication, engineering or a related environment.
• Demonstrated experience managing a factory or production workforce of approximately 20 employees.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to set expectations, develop people and hold teams accountable.
• Experience operating in a job‑shop or project‑driven manufacturing environment.
• Sound knowledge of OHS obligations and practical factory safety management.
• The ability to read and interpret technical fabrication and construction drawings.
• Strong production planning, scheduling and labour‑allocation skills.
• A practical understanding of construction sequencing and site requirements.
• Experience coordinating production and deliveries across multiple projects.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to reorganise workflows as priorities change.
• A continuous‑improvement mindset with demonstrated ability to improve productivity, quality, safety or manufacturing processes.
• Commercial awareness and an understanding of the impact of labour, rework, production delays and logistics on project performance.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• A practical, visible and firm but fair leadership style.
