This is not a nursing position. It is a hands‐on managerial role overseeing the clinical side of the business and working closely with the Practice Manager, Lead Veterinarian, Lead Receptionist and veterinary team.

About the role

\n

You will provide visible leadership throughout the clinical day, ensuring people, patients, procedures and priorities remain coordinated. While you will bring strong veterinary nursing knowledge to the position, your primary focus will be management rather than filling a nursing roster.

\n

Lead the daily clinical huddle and maintain ownership of the hospital workflow whiteboard

\n

Allocate nursing, kennel and patient‐care responsibilities according to workload, capability and clinical priorities

\n

Monitor workflow throughout the day, respond to pressure points and reallocate people or tasks when priorities change

\n

Manage theatre and dental schedules within the hospital's agreed capacity

\n

Track inpatient and active cases, follow up delays and ensure veterinary instructions are actioned and documented

\n

Provide day‐to‐day leadership, coaching and support to the nursing and kennel teams

\n

Support induction, training, consistent clinical standards, policy compliance and ongoing improvement

\n

Work collaboratively with the Practice Manager and wider leadership team to keep the hospital running safely and efficiently

\n

About you

\n

You hold a Certificate IV (or above) in Veterinary Nursing or an equivalent qualification

\n

You have demonstrated substantial experience in a senior veterinary nursing role and in leading a team

\n

You are ready to move into a managerial role focused on clinical operations, people leadership and workflow coordination

\n

You remain calm under pressure, can see the bigger picture and confidently reset priorities when the day changes

\n

You are highly organised, detail oriented and committed to closing the loop

\n

You lead by example and can coach, delegate and provide constructive feedback with warmth and clarity

\n

You communicate professionally and build strong, respectful relationships across veterinary, nursing, kennel and reception teams

\n

You are solutions focused, accountable and motivated to improve systems and standards

\n
