We're seeking an experienced Used Vehicle Sales Managerto lead a successful used vehicle operation in Wellington. This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys making commercial decisions, thrives on accountability and understands how to maximise profitability through smart stock management, effective pricing and strong team leadership.
You'll oversee the full used vehicle lifecycle, from acquisition and trade-ins through to reconditioning, merchandising, pricing and sale. If you're commercially minded, customer-focused and passionate about the automotive industry, we'd love to hear from you.

The Opportunity

As the Used Vehicle Sales Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring stock is sourced, presented and priced effectively to maximise sales performance and profitability.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing the acquisition, purchasing and trade-in process


• Setting and maintaining competitive vehicle pricing strategies


• Overseeing vehicle reconditioning to ensure stock is retail-ready


• Monitoring stock turn, margins and departmental performance


• Maintaining high presentation standards across the dealership yard


• Building strong relationships with customers, suppliers and industry contacts


• Coaching and supporting team members to achieve sales targets

About You

To be successful in this role, you'll bring:

• Previous experience managing or leading a used vehicle operation within a dealership environment


• Strong knowledge of vehicle valuation, purchasing and pricing strategies


• Confidence negotiating trade-ins and stock purchases


• An understanding of reconditioning processes and retail readiness standards


• Proven commercial acumen with the ability to analyse performance and identify opportunities


• Strong leadership, communication and relationship-building skills


• A passion for delivering outstanding customer experiences
