About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced and highly capable Senior Case Manager to join our newly created Case Management function, created following a strategic redesign of our People and Wellbeing division. This is an opportunity to play a key role in strengthening how the University manages employee matters while supporting a safe, respectful and inclusive workplace.

Working closely with the Case Management Lead, you will manage a portfolio of complex employee relations matters, providing expert guidance and support to leaders and People & Wellbeing Business Partners. You will ensure matters are managed in a timely, procedurally fair and risk-informed manner, balancing industrial, organisational and people considerations to achieve sound and defensible outcomes.

Partnering with Workplace Relations, Legal, Safety & Wellbeing and other key stakeholders, you will contribute to a coordinated and consistent approach to case management across the University. You will identify emerging risks, contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and help strengthen case management capability and practice.

You’ll apply trauma-informed practice to the management of cases and support safe, respectful and appropriate responses to sensitive and high-risk cases.

In addition, you will support the University’s injury prevention and rehabilitation function as required, helping to ensure a coordinated approach to employee wellbeing, workplace health and case management outcomes. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful contribution by supporting challenging workplace situations. What’s Required

We are seeking a candidate with strong employee relations and investigations experience, together with the capability to operate effectively in a complex environment, including:

• Extensive experience managing employee relations matters and conducting workplace investigations within large and complex organisations.
• Strong knowledge of Australian employment legislation, industrial instruments and organisational policy frameworks.
• Strong risk assessment capability, including the ability to manage highly sensitive matters and elevate appropriately.
• Proven ability to partner with and influence leaders, providing practical advice on employee matters and resolution pathways.
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to work collaboratively across multiple specialist functions.
• Experience supporting capability development through coaching, guidance and knowledge sharing.
• High levels of discretion, resilience and emotional intelligence.

Appointment to this role will be at HEO 8 and will have a total remuneration package of up to $152,034 comprising base salary within the range of $114,282 to $129,943 plus 17% superannuation.
