About the role

This rolerelates to a specific need in response to recent federal governmentpolicyin the ways universities operate, the nature of changing student cohorts, and changing requirements for student attraction and retention.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategy: Align and deliver the School’s priorities with the University’s Strategic Plan.

Governance: Ensure legal, regulatory and University policy compliance, while leading effective, transparent and equitable governance structures and representing the School on relevant committees.

Research & Teaching: Lead the development, quality and accreditation of academic programs, ensuring teaching is relevant, high-quality and aligned with University priorities.

Stakeholder Engagement & Partnerships:Build and maintain strong community, government, industry, professional and Catholic-sector partnerships to enhance the School’s education, research, funding, reputation and strategic opportunities, locally and internationally.

Leadership & Management: Foster a collaborative, inclusive and values-driven culture, while ensuring effective financial, resource and operational management to achieve the School’s objectives.

Qualifications, skills & experience

Applicants should respond specifically to the following specific criteria:

• Possession of a doctorate and strong track record of discipline related research or equivalent track of industry service and engagement in the education sector.
• Demonstrated national impact aligned with federal government policy for universities’ attraction and retention of students, particularly as it relates to First Nations, Equity students and VET.
• Demonstrated development and maintenance of formal and informal relationships with key partners focused on national policy requirements including Professional Experience, flexible program delivery, and student diversity.
• Strong leadership and management skills and a successful track record in the development, implementation, and evaluation of organisational change in a national, multi-campus context, demonstrating commercial acumen and alignment to performance goals.
• Demonstrated strong understanding of budget and financial management principles and obligations to compliance with University targets.
• Well-developed capability to contribute and drive excellence in teaching and learning, research, and stakeholder engagement throughout the School, and in collaboration across the Faculty and University.
• Demonstrated alignment with UNDA’s pillars in connection with teacher education.
• Demonstrated commitment to the breadth of university life through Service and Leadership within and outside regular work times.
