Asset Management Services

CPP’s Asset Management Services ensure the reliability and longevity of high-voltage assets. As a key part of our end-to-end service offering, we provide a seamless transition from construction and commissioning to ongoing asset management.

As CPP continues to expand its presence, AMS is creating a dedicated Transformer Services capability to bring specialist transformer installation expertise in-house. This investment will strengthen project delivery, create new growth opportunities and establish a national team capable of supporting transformer projects across Australia.

The Opportunity

This is a rare opportunity for an experienced transformer specialist to build and lead a new national capability from the ground up.

As the Transformer Services Manager, you'll take ownership of establishing CPP’s transformer installation and services offering. you’ll build and lead a specialist national team responsible for transformer receipt, transport inspections, assembly, installation, oil processing, testing, commissioning support and ongoing asset services.

Initially, this role will be highly hands-on. You’ll be in the field leading installations, mentoring team members and demonstrating best practice across transformer receipt, assembly, installation, oil processing, testing and commissioning readiness. As the capability matures and the team grows, the role will naturally transition towards planning, resourcing, scheduling and operational leadership across multiple sites and projects.

Working across substations, utility infrastructure and major data centre projects, you’ll play a critical role in building a service line that is strategically important to CPP’s future growth.

Key responsibilities:

• Establish and lead CPP's national transformer installation and services team.
• Recruit, coach and develop specialist supervisors, technicians and tradespeople.
• Lead transformer installation activities from delivery and assembly through to commissioning support.
• Develop safe work procedures, quality systems and delivery methodologies.
• Manage planning, scheduling and resource allocation across multiple projects.
• Build strong relationships with OEMs, clients, project teams and specialist subcontractors.
• Support estimating, tendering and future growth opportunities within the transformer services business.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

• Proven hands‑on experience installing large power transformers in HV, substation or utility environments.
• Strong technical knowledge of transformer assembly, oil processing, testing and commissioning preparation.
• Demonstrated experience leading teams and developing technical capability.
• The ability to balance hands‑on site leadership with operational planning and coordination.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• A willingness to travel nationally and spend significant time in the field during the establishment phase (approximately 12 months).

Highly regarded:

• Electrical trade qualification and/or electrical licence.
• Experience working with major transformer OEMs.
• Experience establishing a new service line, technical capability or specialist team.
• Exposure to transmission, distribution, substation, utility or data centre projects
