ABOUT THE ROLE

Mediq Broadmeadows is seeking an organised, experienced receptionist with dental assisting skills to join our combined medical and dental clinic on a casual basis.

This is primarily a reception position across both medical and dental services, with dental assisting required when needed. Strong reception skills are our priority, alongside practical experience providing chairside support.

We are looking for someone who communicates clearly, keeps a busy front desk organised and helps patients feel welcome and supported.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

Medical and dental reception:

  • Welcome and check in patients.
  • Answer calls and manage patient enquiries professionally.
  • Coordinate appointments, confirmations, cancellations and follow-ups.
  • Process payments and assist with billing administration.
  • Maintain accurate patient details and confidential records.
  • Communicate with practitioners and support smooth appointment flow.
  • Keep reception organised and manage competing priorities.

Dental assisting when required:

  • Provide chairside assistance during dental procedures.
  • Prepare treatment rooms and clean between patients.
  • Clean, sterilise and organise instruments in line with infection control procedures.
  • Monitor dental supplies and support patient comfort.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • Strong previous reception experience, preferably in a medical or dental practice.
  • Previous dental assisting experience, including chairside support and instrument sterilisation.
  • A professional phone manner and clear spoken and written English.
  • Strong organisation, attention to detail and confidence managing a busy front desk.
  • Good computer skills and the ability to learn practice management systems.
  • Reliability, initiative and a friendly, respectful approach.
  • An understanding of patient confidentiality and infection control.

Highly regarded:

  • Ability to speak Arabic confidently to support our many Arabic-speaking patients with bookings, enquiries and everyday reception communication.
  • Experience using Best Practice, MedicalDirector, PracSoft or Dental4Web.
  • Experience across both medical and dental reception.
  • A Certificate III or IV in Dental Assisting.

POSITION DETAILS

  • Casual employment.
  • Based at Mediq Broadmeadows in Broadmeadows.
  • Predominantly medical and dental reception, with dental assisting duties as required.
