Automation Business Development Manager

We're looking for an experienced Automation Business Development Manager to join our team on the NSW Central Coast. This is an opportunity to combine your commercial expertise with your understanding of automation, engineering and manufacturing to help drive growth across a diverse range of industries.

About the Role

Reporting into the leadership team, you'll be responsible for identifying and securing new business opportunities while managing opportunities through the full sales cycle, from concept and scope development through to proposal and project handover.

Key responsibilities

• Developing and executing strategic business development initiatives
• Securing new clients across manufacturing and industrial sectors
• Growing opportunities with existing customers
• Building strong relationships with clients and key stakeholders
• Identifying operational improvement opportunities through client consultation
• Developing solution concepts and assessing technical and commercial feasibility
• Preparing scopes of work, budgets and project quotations
• Supporting marketing activities, including website and social media initiatives

About You

You will be commercially driven, technically capable and confident building long-term client relationships. To be successful, you will have:

• Proven success in a Business Development Manager or similar role
• Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills
• An understanding of automation solutions, including mechanical, electrical and control systems
• Exposure to robotics and advanced automation technologies (highly regarded)
• Experience interpreting or developing 2D and 3D layouts using CAD software
• Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills
