Join a highly supportive and experienced Environmental Health team where you will work alongside public health professionals and collaborate with local government, NSW Health, and other government agencies to deliver meaningful public health outcomes.

This is an exciting opportunity to make a genuine impact on the health and wellbeing of communities across South Western Sydney by responding to a diverse range of environmental health issues, including drinking water quality, recreational water safety, public swimming pools, cooling water systems, housing conditions, air quality, mosquito-borne diseases, lead exposure, and environmental incidents. Through varied fieldwork, investigations, emergency responses, project work, and involvement in state-wide environmental health initiatives, you will further develop your professional skills while contributing to the protection and improvement of community health.

Are You the Right Fit?

We are seeking a motivated and dedicated Environmental Health professional who is passionate about public health and enjoys working across a broad range of environmental health disciplines. You will possess strong technical, analytical, and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to assess environmental health risks, interpret relevant legislation, and apply evidence‑based solutions to complex issues. Highly organised and adaptable, you can effectively manage competing priorities while responding to emerging public health incidents and time‑critical investigations.

A commitment to continuous learning, a recognised qualification in Environmental Health, eligibility for Environmental Health Australia membership, and a current Australian driver's licence are essential. The successful applicant will also be willing to participate in an after‑hours on‑call roster and occasionally work outside standard business hours to support important public health responses.

• Degree in Applied Science (Environmental Health) or other Applied Science / Environmental health / Environmental management qualifications deemed equivalent by the employer.
• Knowledge and experience applying NSW public health and environmental health legislation, including investigations, evidence gathering and regulatory decision‑making.
• Demonstrated ability to identify, assess and manage environmental health risks across a range of settings.
• Possess strong communication skills, including preparing clear reports, briefs and correspondence for senior staff.
• Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team while managing deadlines and responding to emerging issues.

Applicants must possess an Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment. Learner's licenses are not permitted.
