About the role

We are seeking a Spares and Replacement Parts Manager to join Macfarlane Generators Pty Ltd in Clayton South Head Office, Victoria. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial strategic role in managing our spares and replacement parts operations. You will be responsible for overseeing the inventory, sales, and distribution of generator components and replacement parts to both internal teams and external customers. This role is essential to ensuring our customers receive timely access to quality parts and maintaining strong relationships with our client base. You will work on-site at our Clayton South facility, where you will have the opportunity to develop your expertise in the generator and power equipment industry.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and oversee the complete spares and replacement parts inventory, including ordering, stock control, and warehousing
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, providing expert advice on parts selection and compatibility
• Process customer enquiries and orders for replacement parts, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery
• Identify sales opportunities and promote spares and parts to existing and prospective customers
• Liaise with suppliers to ensure reliable sourcing of quality parts at competitive prices
• Maintain accurate records of inventory, sales transactions, and customer interactions
• Monitor stock levels and implement reordering procedures to prevent stockouts and overstock situations
• Provide technical support and guidance to customers regarding parts specifications and applications
• Contribute to the development of pricing strategies and promotional activities for spares and parts
• Collaborate with other departments to support customer satisfaction and business objectives

What we're looking for

• Proven experience in spares parts management, sales, or a related field within the mechanical, engineering, or power generation industry
• Strong knowledge of generator components, replacement parts, and their applications
• Excellent sales and customer service skills with a proven track record of building and maintaining client relationships
• Proficiency in inventory management systems and stock control procedures
• Solid understanding of supply chain management and procurement processes
• Strong organisational and administrative abilities with attention to detail
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
• Problem-solving capabilities and a proactive approach to identifying business opportunities
• Relevant qualifications in sales, business management, or engineering (preferred)
• Experience with generator or power equipment servicing and maintenance (advantageous)
