About the role

\n

This is an outstanding ongoing opportunity for an experienced Grade 1 Speech Pathologist who is ready to build on their foundational skills and take the next step in paediatric practice. You will deliver evidence-based assessment and intervention for children with communication and swallowing needs, supporting a vibrant and rapidly growing community across Melbourne's west.

As part of a well-established and highly skilled paediatric team, you will manage a varied caseload with the clinical autonomy that comes with experience, backed by structured supervision, strong peer support, and genuine investment in your professional development. As a permanent position, this role offers the stability and continuity to grow deep expertise, pursue your areas of clinical interest, and make a lasting difference to the children and families you work alongside.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, evidence-based assessment and intervention that supports children's communication and swallowing development.
\n
• Manage a varied paediatric caseload with growing independence, applying sound clinical judgement to complex decision-making.
\n
• Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to assess, plan, and deliver services that respond to the needs of children and families.
\n
• Maintain accurate clinical records and prepare clear, timely reports that support quality care and effective service delivery.
\n
• Contribute to service improvement, student supervision, and the mentoring of less experienced colleagues as your confidence and expertise grow.
\n
• Participate actively in supervision, professional development, and reflective practice.
\n
• Uphold safety, child safety, and confidentiality standards to ensure a respectful and secure environment for families and staff.
\n

About you

\n

\n
• A qualified Speech Pathologist eligible for membership of Speech Pathology Australia, with some post-graduate clinical experience, ideally including paediatrics.
\n
• Confident delivering evidence-based assessment and intervention, and ready to take on a varied caseload with increasing autonomy.
\n
• Committed to family-centred practice and to supporting children to reach their potential.
\n
• A collaborative team member who works respectfully alongside colleagues and contributes to a positive team culture.

• Organised, reliable, and thorough in your documentation and reporting.
