ABOUT THE ROLE

\n

In this role, you will deliver high-quality training and assessment that equips students with the practical skills, industry knowledge, and confidence required for successful careers in hospitality and commercial cookery. You will facilitate engaging learning experiences, support student success, maintain compliance with the Vocational Education and Training (VET) Quality Framework and ASQA requirements, and ensure training outcomes remain relevant to current industry practices and workforce expectations.

This role requires a senior and industry-current hospitality professional with a minimum of five years' recent industry experience in hospitality and commercial cookery. Demonstrating strong operational leadership and current industry expertise, you will deliver high-quality training and assessment, mentor students, and ensure learning outcomes are aligned with contemporary workplace practices, employer expectations, and regulatory requirements.

This is a full-time, fixed-term 12-month position based in West Perth.

Key Responsibilities

\n

Effective Delivery of Training and Assessment

\n

\n
• Facilitate engaging and high-impact training sessions that address diverse learning styles and ensure students understand key concepts. Provide assessments that accurately measure competency in line with accredited course outcomes.
\n
• Deliver training using a variety of methods including face-to-face, online, and blended learning to cater to diverse student learning preferences.
\n
• Create, adapt, and improve teaching resources that reflect the latest industry standards, ensuring lessons are relevant, interactive, and aligned with the course curriculum.
\n

Ensure Compliance and Quality

\n

\n
• Ensure all training and assessment activities comply with ASQA regulations, VET Quality Framework standards, and Stanley College’s internal policies. Contribute to internal audits and external reviews by maintaining accurate and comprehensive records.
\n
• Offer comprehensive support, guiding students through academic challenges.
\n
• Prepare students for placements with practical advice on professional conduct and expectations.
\n
• Provide additional academic support for students requiring assistance by identifying their learning gaps, offering tailored tutoring or revision, and referring them to support services where necessary.
\n
• Actively engage in internal audits, ASQA audits, and other regulatory reviews, providing required documentation and addressing any compliance-related feedback.
\n
• Participate in the validation and moderation of assessments to ensure consistency, fairness, and alignment with compliance standards.
\n
• Actively engage in training sessions and professional development opportunities related to compliance and quality assurance, ensuring personal knowledge remains current and applicable.

Engage with Industry

\n

• Collaborate with industry partners to ensure that training content, assessments, and outcomes reflect the latest industry practices, technologies, and skill requirements.
\n
• Facilitate opportunities for students to engage in industry placements, internships, or real-world simulations, providing them with practical experience that enhances their employability.
\n
• Stay updated on emerging trends and innovations in the industry through participation in professional forums, conferences, and networking events, integrating these developments into training content and delivery.

Student Experience & Engagement

• Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment that promotes student engagement, participation, and a strong sense of belonging.

• Support students' academic, personal, and professional development while working closely with the Faculty Manager to align training delivery with faculty objectives and continuous improvement initiatives.

• Maintain a safe workplace by adhering to health and safety requirements and promptly reporting hazards, incidents, or unsafe conditions

Drive Innovation and Continuous Improvement

• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that support innovation, organisational growth, and alignment with Stanley College’s vision, mission, and values.

• Participate in strategic projects, recommend improvements, and maintain compliance with policies, procedures, quality assurance, and risk management frameworks.
\n
• Promote diversity and inclusion, maintain effective documentation and processes, and support business growth initiatives and other organisational priorities as required.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Qualifications and Experience

\n

\n
• A relevant qualification in the field of the course being delivered.
\n
• Minimum five (5) years recent and relevant industry experience in Hospitality and Commercial Cookery.
\n
• Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122) or equivalent (mandatory).
\n
• Demonstrate relevant and up-to-date industry qualifications in your specific area of expertise.
\n
• Current Working With Children Check (WWCC) (mandatory).
\n
• Current Food Safety certification/Food Safety Supervisor qualification (mandatory).
\n
• Current First Aid Certificate (mandatory).
\n
• Demonstrate recent and relevant vocational experience within the industry sector, ensuring that training is informed by practical, real-world applications of the skills and knowledge being taught.
