The Role:

QT Canberra is looking for a commercially savvy Director of Sales to lead our hotel sales strategy and drive revenue performance ahead of the market. Reporting to the General Manager, you'll direct and develop the hotel sales team while working closely with EVT's National Sales, Marketing, Loyalty and Digital teams to grow market share and deliver outstanding commercial outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, execute and oversee the hotel's sales strategy, driving revenue ahead of the market through a disciplined focus on core levers, rate and occupancy
• Drive EVT's vertical selling solutions to grow market share of existing accounts, promoting and cross-selling the broader EVT portfolio
• Manage a portfolio of key accounts across corporate, conference and events segments, growing wallet share and converting new and lapsed business
• Source new business through proactive account solicitation, site inspections and industry event participation
• Lead, coach and develop the hotel sales team, setting clear performance expectations and holding regular performance conversations
• Maintain strong awareness of the competitive landscape and market trends, sharing intelligence with the GM and sales team to inform strategyContribute to sales reports, business reviews and the Annual Business Plan and Financial Budget
• Ensure all sales activity is accurately recorded in the CRM in line with EVT policy and procedure

What You'll Bring:

• Demonstrated experience leading a hotel sales team, with accountability for revenue performance across corporate and Conference & Events segments
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a Senior Sales Manager role or equivalent, managing a significant revenue portfolio
• Proven experience managing high-value key accounts, with a track record of growing wallet share
• Strong commercial acumen and demonstrated ability in strategic planning and executing a sales strategy in a hotel environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the confidence to present compelling proposals and influence stakeholders
• Proficiency in CRM systems and hotel sales reporting tools
• Relevant tertiary qualification in Business, Hospitality or Marketing (desirable)
