About the role:

This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to Engineers Australia’s impact and influence on engineering matters while supporting strong engagement with our members and volunteers. Working closely with the Division General Manager, you will play a key role in delivering the Division’s business plan through the coordination of member activities, events, stakeholder engagement initiatives and administrative support. You will help foster collaboration with members, volunteers and external stakeholders across industry, education, government and the community, while ensuring effective governance, service delivery and follow-through on key activities. If you enjoy building relationships, managing a variety of responsibilities and contributing to meaningful work that supports the engineering profession, this role offers the opportunity to make a visible impact in a purpose-driven organisation.This is a hybrid role, pending a successful probation period, with office attendance and working-from-home arrangements guided by the activities of the Division. The role requires flexibility to support morning and evening activations, events and stakeholder meetings, with some out-of-hours activity typically occurring after 4:30pm and, at times, up to two evenings per week.

In this role you will:

Assist the Division General Manager in building the impact, brand, and membership of Engineers Australia through the implementation of a, activity plan and stakeholder engagement plan for your local state/territory. This should include member recognition and engagement; local policy activity; local school engagement; local advocacy, media and communications activity and industry roundtables.

Identify impactful partnerships with new and existing stakeholders (across industry, education, government, community, and other industry bodies) to expand Engineers Australia’s profile and support the Division General Manager in fostering these relationships.

Support and collaborate with the Professional Development team on local event activity as appropriate.

Operate as an ambassador for Engineers Australia and lead or participate in events and functions.

Support office bearers and volunteers in delivering impactful activity for EA, and support the Division General Manager in partnering with the Division President and Committee

Keep informed about issues relating to engineering in your local area and more broadly.

Support the Division General Manager in office administration tasks.

Here’s what we’re looking for:

You have established relationships with a wide variety of people, internally and externally and can deliver operational plans.

You have demonstrated your ability to deliver and host meetings and events.

You can work successfully across teams, without direct reporting line authority.

You demonstrate initiative and accountability; you are efficient, able to organise and prioritise work, garner resources and deliver required outputs whilst tackling multiple tasks.

You are a committed team player with excellent interpersonal skills, organisational and time management skills.

You have a high level of written and verbal communications skills, including the ability to deliver a message with enthusiasm and energy.

You bring with you, or are excited to develop, a working knowledge of (non-technical) engineering matters.

You have a background in delivering high-quality experiences and services.

You have experience in at least one of: member or customer service/engagement, policy, advocacy, media, STEM, industry engagement or corporate events.
