\nThe Network Operations Center (NOC) team within Leo Networking Software is responsible for tier 1 support for software defined network services at Amazon Leo. You'll join a growing team of network operations engineers supporting Amazon Leo's global satellite network. Our services operate at scale and support workloads critical to customer network performance and availability, so a passion and discipline around operational excellence is key.\n
\nThis position may require access to information, technology, or hardware that is subject to export control laws and regulations, including the Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Employment in this position is contingent upon obtaining any required export licenses or other approvals from the United States government. As such, the successful candidate must be eligible to obtain any necessary export licenses or approvals based on their nationality, citizenship, and any other factors considered by the applicable export control regulations."\n
\nKey job responsibilities\n
\n- Respond to and escalate network-related incidents in a timely manner, diagnosing and troubleshooting network issues including connectivity problems, performance degradation, and security concerns.\n
\n- Support deployment and onboarding of network capabilities across geographic regions, assisting in the monitoring, testing, and reporting of new network infrastructure including satellites, gateway sites, and points of presence.\n
\n- Monitor and investigate network performance to ensure maximum efficiency and operational uptime for customers.\n
\n- Build and enhance tools, develop best practices, and refine operational procedures to measurably improve network operations.\n
\n- Manage severity 2 and 3 tickets while attending on-call rotations during business hours and weekends.\n
\n- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including network, software, and security engineers.\n
\n- 4+ years of technical support experience\n
\n- Experience with network engineering for large-scale networks, including diagnosing network impacting issues\n
\n- Knowledge of internet fundamentals and cloud computing concepts\n
\n- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or equivalent, or experience with networking and troubleshooting (TCP/IP, DNS, routing, switching, firewalls, LAN/WAN, traceroute, iperf, dig, cURL or related) at an advanced level\n
\n- Experience with programming/scripting (Batch, VB, PowerShell, Java, C#, Chef, Perl, Ruby and/or PHP), or experience in SQL Server/MySQL and experience with automation and any version control tools\n
\n- Experience dealing effectively with customers during problem resolution and operating efficiently under pressure, or experience driving collaborative projects from conception to delivery\n
\n- Experience with satellite-based telecommunication networking\n
