At our renowned Cancer Care Westside Haematology & Oncology Clinics (WHO) site in Brisbane's western suburbs, we are looking for an experienced and dedicated Clinical Nurse to join our specialist oncology nursing team.

Reporting to the Centre Manager, this is an opportunity for an experienced oncology/haematology nurse to take on a senior clinical role, providing high-quality patient care while supporting clinical excellence across the nursing team.

This is a 0.8 FTE permanent part-time opportunity, with working days and hours to be discussed.

You will bring strong clinical assessment, critical thinking and decision-making skills, together with the ability to provide leadership and support to colleagues in the management of complex patient care. You will also contribute to education, quality improvement and evidence-based practice across the service.

As a leading provider of specialist cancer services in Brisbane's western suburbs, our centre features a purpose-built facility with a full range of treatments including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapy, blood transfusions and iron infusions. Our highly experienced team of Medical Oncologists and Clinical Haematologists integrate the latest advances in care and deliver personalised patient pathways through a multidisciplinary approach.

Key Responsibilities

• Practice in accordance with QLD Health Legislation and ACQSHC National Standards.
• Provide holistic nursing care, high-level patient assessments, and referrals for optimal patient outcomes.
• Contribute to quality improvements and collaborate with the Quality and Clinical Governance team to ensure best practices.
• Conduct nursing observations and administer medications in line with policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with Oncologists and the multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications and Skills

• Current and unrestricted registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA.
• Demonstrated experience in oncology and/or haematology nursing, with at least two years' experience highly regarded.
• Advanced assessment, critical thinking and clinical decision-making skills in the management of complex patient care.
• Strong leadership, communication and relationship-building skills, with a commitment to education, quality improvement and evidence-based practice.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, demonstrating empathy for patients and their caregivers.
• Strong clinical and problem-solving abilities.
• Effective care planning and coordination skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
• Experience administering cytotoxic chemotherapy and related cancer treatments, including ADAC chemotherapy competency.
• Competency in PORT, IV cannulation and phlebotomy.
