We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Occupational Therapist to join our growing allied health team supporting participants under the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). This role involves delivering high-quality, person-centred occupational therapy services within the community to individuals with a range of physical, psychosocial, intellectual, neurological, and developmental disabilities.

The Senior Occupational Therapist will provide clinical leadership, mentorship to junior clinicians, complex case management, functional assessments, and evidence-based interventions that empower participants to achieve their goals and improve independence and quality of life.

About the Role

This role involves delivering high-quality, person-centred occupational therapy services within the community to individuals with a range of physical, psychosocial, intellectual, neurological, and developmental disabilities.

The Senior Occupational Therapist will provide clinical leadership, mentorship to junior clinicians, complex case management, functional assessments, and evidence-based interventions that empower participants to achieve their goals and improve independence and quality of life.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive occupational therapy assessments and interventions in participants' homes, and community settings.
  
• Conduct functional capacity assessments, assistive technology assessments, home modification assessments, and sensory assessments.
  
• Develop person-centred therapy plans aligned with participant goals and NDIS funding.
  
• Prepare high-quality clinical documentation, progress reports, and NDIS reports to support funding applications and plan reviews.
  
• Prescribe assistive technology and equipment in accordance with best practice and funding guidelines.
  
• Support participants to build independence in activities of daily living, community access, emotional regulation, and participation.
  
• Collaborate with families, support coordinators, carers, educators, and multidisciplinary teams.
  
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical records in accordance with NDIS and organisational standards.
  

Leadership & Senior Duties

• Provide supervision, mentoring, and clinical support to junior occupational therapists and allied health assistants.
  
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, service development, and quality assurance activities.
  
• Support the Clinical Team Leader with complex case reviews and clinical governance.
  
• Promote evidence-based practice and uphold professional standards across the team.
  

Compliance & Professional Practice

• Maintain compliance with AHPRA, NDIS Practice Standards, and organisational policies.
  
• Participate in professional development and clinical supervision.
  
• Maintain participant confidentiality and uphold ethical practice standards.
  
• Ensure all services are delivered in a culturally safe, trauma-informed, and strengths-based manner.
  

Essential Criteria

• Tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy.
  
• Current registration with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia via AHPRA.
  
• Minimum 5+ years' experience as an Occupational Therapist, including experience within disability and/or community settings.
  
• Strong knowledge of the NDIS, disability supports, and funding frameworks.
  
• Experience completing:
  • Functional Capacity Assessments (FCA)
    
  • Assistive Technology (AT) assessments
    
  • Home modification recommendations
    
  • NDIS progress and review reports
    
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex caseloads independently.
  
• Excellent communication, clinical reasoning, and report-writing skills.
  
• Current Australian driver's licence and reliable vehicle.
  
• Current NDIS Worker Screening Check.
  
• Current Working with Children Check (where applicable).
