Job Description \n

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accountant to join our Trade Finance team.

\n

Reporting to the Senior Financial Accountant – Trade, you will play a key role in supporting financial accounting, reporting and compliance activities across one of Bapcor's largest and most commercially significant business segments.

\n

This role offers excellent exposure to month-end reporting, financial controls, audit processes, fixed asset management and business partnering, making it an ideal opportunity for a finance professional looking to broaden their commercial and technical accounting experience.

\n

Key Responsibilities

\n

\n
• Prepare month-end journals and support the delivery of accurate and timely financial reporting.
\n
• Maintain balance sheet reconciliations, investigating and resolving reconciling items to ensure strong financial controls.
\n
• Analyse financial results against budget, forecast and prior periods, providing commentary on key variances and performance drivers.
\n
• Manage the Trade Fixed Asset Register, ensuring assets are accurately capitalised, depreciated and disposed of in accordance with accounting and tax requirements.
\n
• Support half-year and year-end audit processes, including preparation of schedules and responding to auditor requests.
\n
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, Group policies and reporting requirements.
\n
• Partner with stakeholders across Finance, Operations, Merchandise and Marketing to provide accounting support and insights.
\n
• Contribute to process improvement, automation and reporting enhancement initiatives that improve efficiency, control and business visibility.
\n

Qualifications \n

You are a proactive accounting professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and combining strong technical accounting skills with business partnership.

\n

You will bring:

\n

\n
• Degree qualification in Accounting, Commerce or a related discipline.
\n
• CA or CPA qualification (or working towards completion).
\n
• Minimum 3 years' experience in accounting, financial reporting or a similar finance role.
\n
• Experience with month-end processes, balance sheet reconciliations and audit support.
\n
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
\n
• Advanced Excel skills and experience working with ERP and financial reporting systems.
\n
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders.
\n
• A continuous improvement mindset and interest in leveraging automation and technology to drive efficiencies.
