About the Role

This is a unique opportunity to establish and lead Evolution’s Procurement Centre of Excellence, helping shape how procurement operates across the organisation through improved systems, governance, analytics, capability development and continuous improvement initiatives.

Reporting to the Group Manager Procurement and Supply, you will be responsible for procurement planning, frameworks, governance, analytics, systems, capability uplift, continuous improvement and technology enablement, helping to build a scalable, efficient and commercially focused procurement function.

Working closely with Strategic Category Leads and stakeholders across finance, technology, shared services and operations, you will drive procurement projects and improvement initiatives that enhance visibility, governance, stakeholder experience and value delivery.

While Strategic Category Leads focus on category strategy, sourcing and supplier relationships, this role focuses on strengthening how procurement operates through better systems, governance, analytics, planning and capability development.

Acting as the engine room of the procurement function, you will create practical tools, frameworks and solutions that can be leveraged across multiple categories and business units. You will also lead and develop a Procurement Analyst and Procurement Coordinator while supporting broader capability uplift across the procurement team.

Based in Sydney, this role provides enterprise-wide exposure across our operations in Australia and Canada.

Key Responsibilities

• Establish and lead Evolution’s Procurement Centre of Excellence.
• Improve procurement data quality and establish a trusted single source of truth across spend and supplier, contract and sourcing information.
• Develop and embed procurement policies, standards, frameworks and governance processes.
• Drive procurement projects, transformation programs and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Develop procurement reporting, analytics and performance insights to support data-driven decision making.
• Lead procurement’s technology, automation and AI roadmap to improve visibility, efficiency and decision-making.
• Enhance and embed sourcing, contracting and supplier governance frameworks.
• Build procurement capability through training, playbooks, knowledge resources and coaching.
• Establish procurement planning, category planning and governance processes that improve visibility, prioritisation and stakeholder engagement.

About You

You are an experienced procurement professional who enjoys improving the systems, processes and capabilities that enable procurement teams to deliver their best work.

Your experience may come from mining, manufacturing, infrastructure, energy or another complex operating environment. Most importantly, you bring a track record of designing and implementing practical solutions that improve procurement performance, stakeholder experience and organisational capability.

Your experience will include

• Developing and implementing procurement excellence, governance or operating model frameworks.
• Delivering continuous improvement, transformation or business improvement initiatives.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing capability.
• Experience developing analytics, reporting or business intelligence capability.
• Exposure to systems implementation, digital enablement or process automation initiatives.
• Strong project leadership and change management capability.
• A collaborative, practical and solutions-focused approach to achieving outcomes.
