YOUR ROLE \n

Reporting to the Investigations Manager, Reportable Conduct, the Senior Investigator, Reportable Conduct plays a critical role in supporting MACS to meet its obligations under the Victorian Child Safe Standards and Reportable Conduct Scheme.

\n

Working within the Reportable Conduct Scheme (RCS) Team, you will lead and manage sensitive and complex investigations in a trauma-informed and child-centred manner, ensuring procedural fairness, confidentiality and compliance with legislative and regulatory requirements. The role works closely with schools, regulatory bodies, internal stakeholders and external agencies to support child safeguarding outcomes across the MACS network.

WHAT YOU WILL DO \n

• Lead and manage reportable conduct investigations in accordance with legislative and regulatory requirements
\n
• Conduct timely, high-quality investigations and prepare detailed reports, briefs and recommendations
\n
• Apply sound professional judgement in assessing evidence, procedural fairness and safeguarding risks
\n
• Work collaboratively with schools, families, child protection, police and internal stakeholders throughout investigations
\n
• Provide specialist advice and support regarding reportable conduct matters and child safeguarding risks
\n
• Maintain accurate, confidential and timely records across investigation activities
\n
• Identify root causes and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and safeguarding practices
\n
• Support reporting requirements for senior leadership, Board Committees and regulatory bodies
\n
• Contribute to strengthening organisational capability in child safety and investigative practice
\n

ABOUT YOU \n

\n
• Relevant tertiary qualification in law, social work, investigations, education, social services or related discipline (desirable)
\n
• Demonstrated experience conducting complex investigations and managing sensitive matters
\n
• Strong understanding of the Victorian Child Safe Standards and Reportable Conduct Scheme
\n
• Experience applying trauma-informed and child-centred approaches in investigations
\n
• Exceptional written and verbal communication, stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills
\n
• Strong analytical thinking, judgement and problem-solving capability
\n
• Ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively in complex environments
\n
• High level professionalism, resilience and commitment to confidentiality
\n
• Commitment to the mission and values of Catholic education and child safeguarding
