The Chef at The Founders Room will plan, prepare, and execute high-quality menus for weddings, corporate events, and private functions, ensuring consistency with the venue's standards and event themes. Day-to-day responsibilities include menu development, food preparation, plating, and supervision of kitchen staff to maintain efficient service and high food safety standards. The Chef will collaborate with event coordinators to align catering with guest counts, dietary requirements, and schedules, while managing ordering, inventory, and cost control. The role also involves maintaining a clean, compliant kitchen environment and contributing to the overall guest experience through presentation and timely service. This is an on-site role based at The Founders Room in Cronulla, NSW.
Strong culinary skills, including menu planning, food preparation, and plating for a variety of event styles and sizes.
Experience in event or banquet catering, with the ability to adapt menus to weddings, corporate functions, and private celebrations for 150 people +
Knowledge of food safety, hygiene regulations, and best practices in kitchen operations and compliance.
Ability to manage kitchen staff, coordinate workflows, and work effectively under time pressure during events.
Skills in inventory management, ordering, and basic cost control to support efficient kitchen operations.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working with event coordinators, suppliers, and venue staff.
Relevant culinary qualifications or trade certification, and prior experience as a Chef in hospitality or event venues.
Availability to work evenings, weekends, and event-based schedules, with a focus on reliability and professional presentation.
