ABOUT THE ROLE

\n

We are currently seeking to engage a QLD-based Remote Area Registered Nurse for a Maximum Term Contract, through to the end of February 2027 (with possibility of extension). The work pattern is seven days on, seven days off (Wednesday to Wednesday, 12-hour shifts). This role will be based at our Mount Isa Mine Site, QLD.

\n

FIFO available from Brisbane Airport - accommodation is provided in Mt Isa, and the use of a vehicle.

\n

If you are an experienced remote area Registered Nurse who is passionate about delivering gold standard care and health promotion to our onsite workforce, you will be perfect for the position! The successful candidate will have a current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). You must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and skills in phlebotomy and immunisations would be a bonus. You will need to complete a medical clearance to work onsite, and meet commercial drive standards. Your workplace will alternate between our mine site clinic and our George Fisher site. Advanced Life Support Certificate is required, and there is the possibility of having to go underground if required (to assist with injuries).

DUTIES

\n

Reporting directly to the Practice Manager, you will be responsible for providing a broad range of services including however not limited to:

• High level nursing skills to work autonomously
\n
• Patient triage
\n
• Administering vaccinations
\n
• Compliance with the Department of Health & Human Services Protocols
\n
• Phlebotomy
\n
• Providing on-site health and minor injury management services
\n
• Emergency primary care of injured workers
\n
• Drug & Alcohol testing, Lead level & hydration testing -training provided
\n
• Medical screening such as preliminary observations -training provided
\n
