Job description

APS3 Participant Support Officer

We are seeking an APS3 Participant Support Officer to join our client on a 12-month temp contract initially, in a busy, participant-focused environment. This is a great opportunity for someone with strong customer service and administration skills who enjoys helping people and delivering a positive experience.

The Role

As an APS3 Participant Support Officer, you will be a key point of contact for participants and stakeholders, providing clear, professional and empathetic support in person, over the phone and through written channels.

You will also provide administrative and operational support to ensure participants receive a high-quality service.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Responding to participant and stakeholder enquiries in person, by phone and electronically.
  • Providing front-of-house and reception support within the local office.
  • Resolving enquiries and referring participants to appropriate services when required.
  • Managing shared inboxes, appointments and telephone enquiries.
  • Coordinating appointments and ensuring office facilities are accessible.
  • Completing data entry and following up required actions.
  • Receiving and accurately recording complaints and feedback.
  • Managing participant matters in line with relevant legislation, policies and procedures.
  • Providing general administrative and operational support to the wider team.

About You

  • To be successful in this role, you will bring:
  • Strong customer service and communication skills, with an empathetic and professional approach.
  • The ability to build rapport with participants, families and stakeholders.
  • Strong organisation skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Good problem-solving skills and the ability to provide practical solutions.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy when completing administrative tasks.
  • A positive and respectful approach to supporting people with disability.
  • The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Confidence using computer-based systems, including Microsoft Office.
  • Flexibility and the ability to adapt to changing priorities and participant needs.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive team and use your customer service and administration experience in a meaningful, participant-focused role. If you are approachable, organised and passionate about providing a great customer experience, we would love to hear from you.

DFP welcomes applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, people with diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds and people with disability. In addition, DFP will provide reasonable adjustments for individuals with disability throughout the recruitment process. If you identify as a person with disability and require adjustments to the application, recruitment, selection and/or assessment process, please advise via adjustments@dfp.com.au or 1300 337 000 and indicate your preferred method of communication (email, phone, text) so we can keep in touch and meet your accessibility needs.
