Job Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Catering Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in the preparation and packaging of food items, picking and packing orders, and washing and packing dishes. This role requires flexibility to workday and afternoon shifts on a rotating schedule, including weekends.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation of food items according to recipes and portion sizes
- Pack food items in containers or trays for delivery or pickup orders
- Pick and pack orders accurately and efficiently
- Assist in washing dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen and work areas
- Follow food safety and hygiene guidelines at all times
- Assist in receiving and storing food supplies and ingredients
- Help in setting up and breaking down catering events as needed
- Follow instructions from supervisors and work as part of a team
Additional Notes:
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a catering or food service role is preferred
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in packing orders
- Good communication skills and ability to work well with others
- Flexibility to work rotating day and afternoon shifts, including weekends
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift heavy objects
- Reliable transportation to and from work
