We are now seeking customer service-focused and luxury-mindedAssistant Banquet Managerto join and help lead our Banquet Operations team.

This opportunity is a Parental Leave cover on a 12-month fixed term contract, with ongoing employment opportunities available for the right candidate.

What You’ll Do

As Assistant Banquet Manager, you support the Banquet Services Manager in overseeing all aspects of the operation, ensuring our conference and events guests are provided with superior service and ultimately a seamless and luxury guest experience.

Your responsibilities also include:

• You will exceed our guests' expectations by providing warm, authentic and timely service and providing high level banqueting knowledge to elevate the guest experience.
• Communicate effectively to the team to deliver market leading events, with bespoke service and quality product.
• Manages and assumes overall responsibility for all Banqueting and Event functions throughout the Hotel.
• To ensure that every guest is served in a timely and efficient manner that adheres to the pre-set standards of Banqueting and the Standards of Procedure established by The Langham, Gold Coast.
• Lead by example by being present in operations throughout service periods, peak times and VIP Events.
• Work with our external AV Operators to enhance the guest experiences and build revenue opportunities and guest experiences that lead the market.
• Assist Banquet Service Manager to maintain an up-to-date version of Safe Operating Procedures for the department, ensuring to comply with the highest standards of customer service at all times.

What You’ll Bring

To be successful in this role, you will have previous experience in a similar role and a strong background in banquet operations and leading a team.

• Passion for service excellence and providing superior hospitality;
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
• Strong leadership and team management abilities, with a passion for developing and motivating staff;
• Tertiary qualifications in Hotel/Hospitality/Business or similar advantageous;
• Responsible Service of Alcohol required;
• Australian work rights. We are unable to offer sponsorship for this role.
