Senior HR Advisor - Employee Relations

We are seeking an experienced Principal Workforce Standards Advisor to join a large and complex government organisation, providing high-level advice and leadership across workplace conduct, performance management and employee relations matters.

The Role Working within a specialist workforce support function, you will provide strategic and operational advice across complex employee conduct and performance matters while helping strengthen workplace standards and people-management capability across the organisation.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Providing high-level advice on complex employee conduct, performance and workplace relations matters
• Supporting and overseeing workplace complaints, grievances and conduct cases
• Conducting quality assurance reviews to ensure case management processes are consistent and compliant
• Coaching and supporting managers in managing performance and conduct issues
• Developing and improving workforce policies, procedures, frameworks and resources
• Undertaking research and analysis into emerging workplace conduct and employee relations issues
• Preparing high-level correspondence, reports, submissions and briefings
• Supporting and building the capability of regionally based workplace standards advisors
• Partnering with senior leaders, HR professionals and key stakeholders

About You

You will be an experienced Employee Relations, Workplace Relations or HR professional who is comfortable operating in complex environments and dealing with sensitive employee matters.
Ideally, you will bring:

• Recent QLD Government experience in AO7 level role in ER/IR role with a strong understanding of QLD Government frameworks.
• Strong experience across employee relations, workplace conduct and performance management
• Experience managing or advising on complex workplace investigations, grievances or disciplinary matters
• Sound knowledge of relevant industrial, legislative and policy frameworks
• Strong stakeholder management and influencing capability
• Experience coaching leaders through complex people matters
• Excellent research, analysis and written communication skills
• The ability to provide leadership, oversight and quality assurance across a broader team or function

Previous experience within government, emergency services, health, large operational organisations or other highly regulated environments will be highly regarded.

The Opportunity This role offers the opportunity to operate at a senior advisory level within a large, geographically dispersed organisation, influencing how complex workplace matters are managed while building the capability of leaders and HR professionals. Some travel may be required depending on the location and requirements of the role.

Casual Hourly Rate: $88–$92 per hour + 12% super
