Schools Officer, Grounds and Facilities - Eight Mile Plains State School

Eight-Mile Plains State School is seeking a reliable, practical and proactive Schools Officer, Grounds and Facilities to join our support team.

This hands-on role is responsible for maintaining safe, attractive and well-presented school grounds and facilities that support the daily operations of the school and enhance the learning environment for students, staff and the wider community.

Your Opportunity

As the Schools Officer, Grounds and Facilities you will contribute to the efficient and effective operation and environment of the school by providing a high level of grounds and facilities to the Principal, Business Manager or nominated delegate.

You will perform a range of activities to ensure that the school is maintained to a high standard; follow set instructions; and have independence to perform a variety of day-to-day services that are routine in nature. However, the role receives regular supervision when undertaking duties that are non-routine in nature.

Responsibilities

• Manage general school duties, stores, mail, equipment and events.
• Maintain grounds, gardens, ovals and sporting facilities.
• Complete repairs, maintenance and minor works.
• Operate and maintain grounds and maintenance equipment.
• Support security, building access and banking duties.
• Liaise with staff, students, contractors and tradespeople.
• Identify safety hazards and coordinate repairs.
• Maintain records and ensure WHS and departmental compliance.
• Support grounds improvement, planning and budgeting.
