As a Platform Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and maintaining our infrastructure to ensure scalability, reliability, and security. You will have hands‑on experience in infrastructure hardening, storage solutions, containerization technologies, observability tools, and application security practices.

Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and manage infrastructure hardening processes to enhance the security posture of our cloud-based platforms.
• Configure NetApp S3 storage solutions to suit project requirements – Administration and provisioning data containers and ACL’s.
• Manage Docker and Kubernetes clusters to orchestrate containerized applications effectively.
• Administer Kafka clusters, including configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting, to support high-throughput, distributed data streaming.
• Implement and maintain observability solutions using Grafana and Prometheus, enabling comprehensive monitoring, alerting, and visualization of system metrics and logs.
• Configure and manage Node-RED instances for IoT integration and workflow automation.
• Implement MQTT protocols for lightweight messaging between IoT devices and backend systems.
• Conduct application hardening activities, including secure coding practices, vulnerability assessments, and patch management.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize application performance, reliability, and scalability.
• Participate in on-call rotation and respond to incidents promptly, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum availability.
• Stay up to date with emerging technologies and industry best practices, continually improving our infrastructure and processes.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Platform Engineer or similar role, with a focus on cloud-native infrastructure.
• Hands‑on experience with infrastructure hardening techniques, including network security, access control, and vulnerability management.
• Proficiency in deploying and managing NetApp S3 storage solutions or similar cloud storage platforms.
• Strong expertise in Docker and Kubernetes, including containerization, orchestration, and cluster management.
• Experience in administering Kafka clusters, with knowledge of configuration, replication, and performance tuning.
• Familiarity with observability tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, and Puma for monitoring, logging, and tracing.
• Experience configuring and managing Node-RED instances for IoT integration.
• Knowledge of MQTT protocols for lightweight messaging and IoT communication.
• Experience with application hardening practices, including secure coding, vulnerability assessments, and patch management.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues in a production environment.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
