Lawyer - 2-3 years PQE

AspreyLawyers has an exciting opportunity for a permanent lawyer, with 2 to 3 years PQE, to join our team in West Footscray.

The Opportunity

The role will offer exposure to the above areas of law and the opportunity to work with a tight-knit team that provides excellent mentoring and support with the goal of empowering lawyers to take carriage of matters, under supervision, across a wide range of legal fields.

A successful candidate will have the following:

• Completeddegree in law and admitted to practice in the Supreme Courtof Victoria;
• Have approximately 2 to 3 years of PQE;
• Experience in litigation, commercial law, property, wills and estates and/or conveyancing;
• Ability to take carriage of files and work autonomously - under supervision of Partners;
• The ability to develop and mentor graduate lawyers;
• Fluency in Vietnamese is highly desirable;
• A high level of self-initiative and strong attention to detail;
• Confident and professional communication skills;
• A positive, friendly, pro-active and can-do attitude to get the job done

Your responsibilities will include:

• Carriage of multiple files under the supervision of Partners;
• Interviewing clients, issuing proceedings, negotiating settlements, and preparing for hearings;
• Briefing and instructing Counsel in various jurisdictions ;
• Drafting commercial agreements, Letters of Demand and Court documents;
• Appearing at direction hearings and mediations;
• Care and conduct of conveyancing files; and
• Researching relevant areas of policy, legislation, and case law.
