Position Details

\n

We're now looking to appoint an experienced Operations Manager, Transport NSW to lead our NSW Transport operation based in Lurnea.

\n

This is a pivotal and influential role where you'll be responsible for supporting operational performance, developing a high-performing team, strengthening customer partnerships and ensuring the safe, compliant and efficient delivery of transport services across the state.

\n

About the Role

\n

Reporting to the Transport Manager NSW, you will oversee the day-to-day transport operation while directing continuous improvement, service excellence and sustainable growth.

\n

You'll support a diverse transport team and work closely with customers, contractors and internal stakeholders to deliver outstanding operational outcomes.

\n

Key responsibilities include:

\n

\n
• Helping transport operations to achieve outstanding safety, service and financial performance
\n
• Influencing DIFOT, productivity and customer satisfaction outcomes
\n
• Overseeing transport planning, allocation, fleet utilisation and operational workflows
\n
• Developing effective relationships with customers, subcontractors and key stakeholders
\n
• Ensuring compliance with Chain of Responsibility (CoR), NHVR, fatigue and mass management requirements
\n
• Inspiring and developing a high-performing team through coaching, mentoring and performance management
\n
• Creating continuous improvement initiatives across safety, service and operational efficiency
\n
• Monitoring transport assets and maintenance programs to ensure safe and reliable operations
\n
• Supporting commercial growth opportunities that align with business objectives and strategy.

About You

\n

We're looking for a people-focused operational leader who thrives in fast-paced logistics environments and knows how to balance customer expectations, operational efficiency and team engagement.

\n

You'll bring:

\n

\n
• Proven experience within transport, logistics or 3PL operations
\n
• An impressive background of improving transport operations within a cold chain or temperature-sensitive environment
\n
• In-Depth knowledge of CoR, NHVR and transport compliance requirements
\n
• Success in managing operational budgets, KPIs and performance reporting
\n
• A demonstrated ability to support, coach and develop medium-sized teams
\n
• Outstanding customer relationship management and problem-solving skills
\n
• Experience working within food safety, HACCP or regulated environments
\n
• Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and organisational skills
\n
• Recognised systems capability, including TMS, WMS and Microsoft Office.
