Avanade’s Advisory & Experiences practice is evolving to meet growing demand for technology-led advisory that bridges strategy and delivery. As a Technology Advisory Manager, you will play a key role in helping clients translate their ambition into practical, executable technology roadmaps, with a strong emphasis on effective operating models, AI transformation, and data and application modernisation using the Microsoft ecosystem. As a Manager in Technical Advisory, you will work closely with clients, shaping early-stage engagements, and partnering with delivery teams to ensure advisory outcomes lead to tangible impact. You’ll work across industries and solution areas, supporting senior leaders while building your own advisory craft and leadership capability. As a Technology Advisory Manager, you will support and lead advisory engagements with senior client stakeholders (typically CIO, CTO, CDO, and business leaders), helping them assess their current technology landscape and define clear paths forward. You will focus on making strategy actionable—understanding current state, identifying opportunities for improvement, developing business cases, and shaping initiatives that Avanade can deliver. You’ll also contribute to opportunity development and help create pull-through into broader delivery work across Data & AI, Business Applications, Modern Workplace, Cloud, and Security. You will be measured on quality of advisory delivery, client satisfaction, and your contribution to sustainable pipeline and team development. This role is open for candidates based in Melbourne, Brisbane, Sydney

Key Responsibilities \n

\n
• Lead or support technology advisory engagements, assessing applications, data, platforms, and operating models to develop pragmatic transformation roadmaps
\n
• Translate strategic objectives into actionable initiatives that consider organisational readiness, constraints, and risk
\n
• Contribute to the development of business cases, investment proposals, and phased delivery plans
\n
• Support executive and senior leadership conversations by bringing structured insights, options, and recommendations
\n
• Connect client needs to Avanade’s solution portfolio, working closely with delivery and solution teams
\n
• Collaborate with Microsoft account teams and internal stakeholders to identify and shape opportunities
\n
• Manage and mentor consultants and senior consultants, supporting their development and engagement quality
\n
• Play an active role in internal capability building, asset development, and knowledge sharing within the Tech Advisory community .
\n

Skills and Experiences \n

\n
• 7+ years of information technology experience in enterprise applications, modernisation and/or integration
\n
• 3+ years of hands on experience with cloud technologies and their implementation with experience in at least two of the following: Microsoft Azure (preferred), Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google, Public Cloud, Private Cloud, Hybrid Cloud, Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), or Software as a Service (SaaS)
\n
• Extensive knowledge of and/or success in professional services roles helping companies address multi-layer, complex client issues in support of cloud strategies.
\n
• Experience in planning and implementing cloud architectures for critical business systems.
\n
• Extensive knowledge around the end-to-end value chain of IT applications and infrastructure.
\n
• Deep understanding of emerging technology trends and commercial offerings in support of those trends, Demonstrates thorough aptitude for leading and conducting quantitative and qualitative analyses, including the timely synthesis of complex data into meaningful insights
\n
• You are a seasoned consultant who enjoys working at the intersection of business and technology.
\n
• You are comfortable engaging with senior stakeholders, curious about emerging technologies (particularly AI), and motivated by helping clients move from insight to action.
\n
• You value structure, clarity, and outcomes, and you’re building your profile as a trusted advisor who can both think strategically and execute pragmatically.
\n
• Typically 6–10 years’ experience in technology advisory, digital transformation, architecture, or related consulting roles
\n
• Experience working on technology-led transformation initiatives (e.g. AI adoption, data platforms, operating model, applications modernisation, cloud transformation)
\n
• Ability to engage credibly with senior client stakeholders and tailor communication to technical and non-technical audiences
\n
• Experience contributing to roadmaps, business cases, or transformation plans that lead into delivery
\n
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and storytelling skills
\n
• Experience working within or alongside delivery teams to ensure advisory recommendations are practical and implementable
\n
• Emerging people leadership experience, including mentoring or managing junior team members .
