About The Role

As an After-Hours Youth Support Worker (Evening), you will provide compassionate and consistent support to young people who are experiencing or at risk of homelessness within a crisis accommodation setting. Working closely with the case management team, you will help implement individual support plans, promote safety and wellbeing, and foster a positive, therapeutic environment that empowers young people to achieve their goals. Through your engagement and support, you will play a vital role in helping young people build stability, resilience and confidence for the future.

Reporting to the Client Services Coordinator, this is a permanent part‑time position, (26 hours per week), based on site in Shepparton, Victoria.

Conditions

Compensation isin accordance withthe SCHADS Award Level 3.

How You Will Make An Impact

• Provide after-hours support to young people experiencing or at risk of homelessness, fostering a safe, supportive and therapeutic accommodation environment
• Support the implementation of case management plans, assisting young people to achieve goals related to housing, health, education, employment and community participation
• Help residents develop practical life skills and independence through mentoring and support with daily living activities, including meal preparation, health and wellbeing
• Assist young people to understand and engage with the Journey to Independence Model, promoting positive behaviours and successful outcomes during their stay
• Monitor client wellbeing and safety, identifying and escalating risks appropriately while ensuring the effective operation of the service after hours

What You Will Bring

• A tertiary qualification in community services, social services, or a related field (Diploma preferred; Cert IV accepted with experience and willingness to study)
• Demonstrated experience supporting young people in a social services or youth sector environment
• Understanding of trauma‑informed practice, youth homelessness, and psychosocial support frameworks
• A current driver’s licence and ability to complete mandatory TSA training
• Working knowledge of professional record‑keeping, crisis accommodation expectations, and culturally safe practice
• Mandatory checks: National Criminal History Check & Victorian Employee Working with Children Check
