The role

We are looking for a Commonwealth Government PracticeCoordinator to join our CommonwealthGovernment practice, based inCanberra, on a full-time, permanentbasis.

This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in one of thefirm's flagship practice areas, supporting the operationalrequirements of the practice and helping to drive the deliveryof high-quality service to Commonwealth Government clients.

Working closely with Partners, lawyers, Business Services teamsand government stakeholders, you will coordinate reporting,panel administration, security clearance processes and a rangeof practice support activities, while also providing broaderparalegal support across the team.

This is a varied and hands-on role suited to a highly organisedprofessional who enjoys building strong relationships, managingcompeting priorities and contributing to the ongoing success ofa busy legal practice.

Responsibilities

• Support the day-to-day operational and administrativerequirements of the Commonwealth Government practice, includingpanel management, reporting and stakeholder coordination
• Coordinate Australian Government security clearanceprocesses, working closely with employees, government agenciesand internal stakeholders
• Coordinate Commonwealth Government reporting obligations,ensuring accurate and timely submission in accordance withclient and panel requirements
• Act as a key point of contact for internal and externalstakeholders regarding panel arrangements, matteradministration and client-specific requirements
• Draft and prepare correspondence, reports, legal documentsand other practice-related materials
• Conduct legal research and assist with the preparation ofbriefs, schedules and summaries
• Maintain reporting data, practice resources and keyinformation repositories
• Support process improvement initiatives and contribute tothe development of efficient and consistent reporting andadministrative processes

Requirements

• Australian citizenship, with the ability to obtain andmaintain an Australian Government Security Clearance
• Previous experience in a legal support, practice support,coordination, administration or paralegal role within a lawfirm or government
• Experience working with government clients, panelarrangements or reporting requirements will be highlyregarded
• Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability tobuild effective relationships across all levels of anorganisation
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills,including the ability to draft professional correspondence anddocumentation
• Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and theability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
• A proactive, collaborative approach and commitment todelivering excellent client service
• Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Outlook, Wordand Excel
