Renumeration

Senior Medical Practitioner Year 1 $377,207 – Year 3 $401,095 per annum;

Rural Generalist Year 1 $382,342 – Year 5 $432,570 per annum (dependent on the candidate’s level of applicable experience and qualifications).

(Salary listed above is inclusive of base salary under Arrangement A, 12% employer contributed superannuation, professional development allowance $34,696)

• Other allowances not included in the above salary include penalty rates, On-call and recall rates.

Step into a rewarding and dynamic role as a Senior Medical Practitioner with WA Country Health Service (WACHS) – South West Inland, where you’ll make a meaningful impact across the inland communities of Harvey, Collie, Donnybrook, Bridgetown, Manjimup (Warren) and Nannup. You’ll be a valued leader, providing supervision, support, and training to junior doctors and clinical staff, and contributing to a strong culture of continuous learning. Suitable for generalist medical practitioners, there is support for additional upskilling/reskilling to accommodate the emergency medicine aspects of the role.

You will be well supported by the clinical teams in the Regional Resource Centre at Bunbury, the WACHS Command Centre (Operations Hub and Command Centre - Home) statewide services including transport, telehealth, and mental health, maternity and obstetric telehealth ensuring patients receive the right care, in the right place, at the right time.

With a wide scope of practice — including emergency and acute presentations, general ward management, aged care, rehabilitation, and palliative care — this role offers both professional variety and the chance to truly connect with the communities you serve. Qualifications And Experience

We are seeking applications from motivated and compassionate clinicians — whether currently based in a metropolitan or regional setting — who are looking to broaden their clinical scope, gain valuable rural experience, and find greater career fulfilment.

Ideal Candidates Will Hold And Demonstrate The Following

• Eligible for General and/or Specialist registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
• Fellowship with either the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) and/or Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (FACRRM) or working towards the same. *
• Experience working in Emergency Medicine or an urgent care setting or willingness to upskill.
• Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication abilities, with strengths in negotiation and conflict resolution.
• Must have a current C or C-A class driver’s licence as traveling is required of the role.
• Generalist Registrars who demonstrate a strong commitment to providing high-quality, holistic care in a regional setting are highly encouraged to apply!
