Technical System Specialist - UKG Ready & Payroll

We are seeking a hands-on UKG Ready Technical Consultant to own the ongoing administration, configuration, and optimisation of our key platforms: UKG Ready (Kronos) and Cloud Payroll. Reporting directly to the Group Payroll Manager, you will have a unique position sitting directly within the Payroll team. Your focus is highly technical and configuration-driven: you will act as the key system administrator, programming pay rules, configuring schedule cycles, and scripting system parameters to ensure that our Enterprise Agreements, awards, and company policies are perfectly translated into the system logic.

As a UKG Ready / Payroll Systems Specialist, you'll:

• Assisting with the ongoing build, configuration, and maintenance of the HRIS, T&A system, and Cloud Payroll.
• Reviewing, developing, and directly programming UKG Ready (Kronos) Payment Rules, parameters, shift structures, and daily work schedules to align with Modern Awards, Enterprise Agreements, and Fair Work regulations.
• Building and running test scripts, as well as managing data validation, system upgrades, defect investigation, and real-time issue resolution.
• Developing process maps, system documentation, user manuals, and knowledge base articles to support change management and business adoption.
• Providing direct technical training and support to managers and team members on time tracking, scheduling, and system functions.
• Monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimizing data flows, integrations, and interface mappings between recruitment tools, UKG Ready, and downstream payroll databases.
• Performing routine technical audits of system configurations, pay rate tables, and contract interpretations to ensure compliance and prevent variances.
• Designing and running complex, custom system reports and analytics to support Payroll and Leadership teams with auditing.

You'll have:

• Extensive hands-on system administration, backend configuration, data validation, testing, and integration experience with UKG Ready.
• Robust understanding of payroll processing, timekeeping mechanics, scheduling, and end-to-end data flow from time clock devices to the final pay packet.
• Demonstrated ability to interpret business compliance policies, employment awards, and complex Modern Award rules and manually translate/program them into pay calculations.
• Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables) and experience designing custom database queries, reports, and data analytics.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills with sharp attention to detail.
• High autonomy, quick learning capabilities, and the flexibility to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
