• Manage social housing, rooming house and SDA programs, including complex tenancy matters and service delivery.

With housing affordability and availability becoming increasingly challenging across Melbourne, this role offers an opportunity to help create practical housing solutions for vulnerable members of the community. Through strong operational leadership and strategic partnerships, you will help ensure people have access to safe, secure and sustainable housing.

About the Opportunity

\n

This is a newly created leadership role with responsibility for a diverse housing portfolio spanning social housing, rooming houses and Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA).

\n

Reporting to the Deputy Director, Disability & Social Services and as a member of the Social Services Leadership Team, you will:

• Lead a high-performing housing team delivering quality tenancy and housing services.
\n
• Oversee complex tenancy, compliance and property management matters.
\n
• Build strategic relationships with community housing providers, government and philanthropic organisations.
\n
• Identify opportunities to expand housing pathways and strengthen housing outcomes for vulnerable community members.
\n
• Contribute to organisational strategy and the future direction of housing services at Jewish Care.
\n

About You

\n

\n
• Leadership experience in homelessness, social/community housing or public housing including managing complex client, tenancy and stakeholder issues.
\n
• Sound knowledge of tenancy management, housing legislation and regulatory compliance.
\n
• Strong people leadership skills with a track record in supporting teams to achieve successful outcomes.
\n
• An ability to build productive partnerships and influence outcomes across multiple stakeholders.
\n
• Strong financial, program management and strategic planning skills.
\n
• Excellent communication, negotiation and problem-solving capabilities.
\n
• Degree qualification in social services including social work, community development or related field OR demonstrated high level of sector knowledge and skills attained through previous appointments, service and study/development
\n
• Knowledge of Victorian housing legislation and tenancy management
\n
• Experience in program, budget and people management
\n
• Knowledge of NDIS Quality and Safeguarding standards as they pertain to SDAs
\n
• Knowledge of Victorian and Commonwealth housing policy and funding frameworks.
\n
• Experience working with culturally and linguistically diverse communities
\n
