You will be trained to perform Vihara's signature head spa experiences, including botanical hair and scalp cleansing, warm water therapy, scalp massage and slow, intentional massage of the head, neck, shoulders, arms and hands. You'll also learn how we welcome and consult with clients, prepare and reset treatment spaces, serve post-treatment refreshments and care for the entire client journey from the moment they walk through our doors. Our treatments also incorporate elements such as sound, sensory experiences and quiet, intentional touch. Some treatments finish with a blow-dry.
Vihara is a Japanese Head Spa and holistic wellness space in Parkdale, created around nurturing touch, nervous system support and giving people a place to completely switch off and feel looked after.
We are not a traditional salon, day spa or massage clinic. Our clients come to us for many different reasons. Some are simply craving time for themselves. Others may be experiencing stress, burnout, grief, motherhood, overwhelm or significant changes in their lives.
For the time they are with us, our role is to make them feel completely cared for. Our treatments are slow, intentional and deeply nurturing, combining Japanese head spa techniques with massage, water therapy, sensory elements and sound.
This is why working at Vihara is about so much more than washing hair. It is about presence, intentional touch, noticing the little things and creating an experience where someone can genuinely let go and feel looked after.
