Join the BMU Division servicing, repairing and maintaining Building Maintenance Units across Sydney, troubleshooting complex electrical issues and delivering safe, reliable and best-practice solutions for prominent commercial buildings.

Our client is an established player in the maintenance and construction industry who are known for their high-quality building services including remedial, construction, maintenance, life services and height safety services. They are now seeking an experienced BMU Service Technician / Electrician

\n
\n

to join their growing Sydney operations.

\n
\n

This role will involve servicing, repairing, upgrading, modifying and replacing Building Maintenance Units (BMUs), undertaking planned maintenance activities, troubleshooting and resolving breakdowns, and implementing best-practice long-term solutions to improve reliability.

\n
\n

The successful candidate will be recognised as a technical subject matter expert, using their specialised knowledge and previous experience to determine the most appropriate methods and procedures for different work situations. You will work across a range of equipment, tools, materials and systems while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality and customer service.

\n

This is a hands-on technical role suited to an experienced Electrician who is confident with fault finding and diagnostics, can work independently within a small team, and has a strong understanding of electrical systems and PLC programming.

\n

$90,000 - $120,000 per year

\n
\nResponsibilities include but not limited to: \n
\n

\n
• Service, maintain, repair, upgrade, modify and replace Building Maintenance Units (BMUs)
\n
• Undertake planned preventative maintenance activities
\n
• Troubleshoot and resolve electrical and mechanical breakdowns
\n
• Diagnose faults and implement effective long-term solutions
\n
• Perform electrical fault finding and diagnostic work
\n
• Assist with improving the reliability and performance of BMU equipment
\n
• Apply appropriate methods, procedures, tools and equipment to different work situations
\n
• Ensure all works are completed in accordance with WHS and OH&S requirements
\n
• Deliver compliant OH&S systems on site
\n
• Maintain a high standard of customer service and professionalism
\n
• Work collaboratively with the wider BMU and facilities management team
\n
• Complete work safely, efficiently and to a high standard
\n
• Participate in technical and customer service training as required
\n

\nThe ideal candidate: \n
\n

\n
• Previous experience in service and maintenance roles
\n
• Demonstrated well-developed fault-finding and diagnostic skills
\n
• Experience with PLC programming and troubleshooting
\n
• Experience working with Building Maintenance Units or similar specialised equipment would be advantageous
\n
• Comfortable working at heights
\n
• Strong understanding of WHS regulations and procedures
\n
• Understanding of and commitment to compliant OH&S systems on site
\n
• Ability to work effectively in a small team without close supervision
\n
• Strong customer service and communication skills
\n
• Technically competent with a practical, hands-on approach
\n
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
\n
• Physically fit and capable of performing the requirements of the role
\n
• Australian Driver's Licence
