Temporary Full Time – 12 month contract(with flexible hours)

Band 6– $97,222.14 + super + RDO (RDO applicable for full-time 38 hours per week only)

About the Role

Yarra City Council is seeking a Business Engagement Lead to deliver Council's Business Concierge service within the Economic Development team. Within this role you will also support the implementation of service review and improvement recommendations, to modernise processes, efficiencies and customer experience enhancements.

This role will coordinate the team to effectively deliver the day-to-day operations of the Business Concierge service that supports businesses to establish, grow and invest in Yarra. Working alongside the Business Transformation branch to assess system requirements, review process and implement the end-to-end service delivery processes, helping Council deliver a more efficient, customer-centred and financially sustainable service.

The Business Engagement Lead will develop, monitor and report on success metrics for the Business Concierge service to further understand the service end to end and develop practical recommendations for service improvements. Working closely with the Business Transformation branch, key regulatory departments, internal stakeholders and the project governance groups to support the delivery of a significant business improvement initiative as part of the Business Approvals Incentive Scheme Pilot.

What We’re Looking For

We're looking for a candidate with experience in economic development, business engagement, customer service, project planning and implementation, to help deliver outcomes for the Economic Development team in collaboration with the Business Transformation branch.

You will bring:

• Strong business acumen and relevant experience in business support or regulation, preferably in local government or a comparable setting.
• Demonstrated ability to lead team members and internal stakeholders in delivering projects and services, with clear priorities, responsibilities and milestones.
• Strong customer focus, with the ability to provide clear, practical advice and deliver positive customer outcomes.
• Demonstrated ability to build productive relationships with diverse stakeholders, including businesses, industry, government and internal regulatory teams.
• Strong project and program management skills, including implementing initiatives, analysing data, monitoring outcomes and making evidence-based recommendations.
