Manager/Senior Manager - Corporate Tax

About the role:

As a Corporate Tax Manager at RSM Melbourne, you will advise clients and provide compliance on Corporate Tax matters. This position has exposure to a range of tax advice and compliance matters relating to clients in a variety of industries. You will also be responsible for assisting the Partner/s with the management and development of junior members of the team. You’ll be part of a collaborative and supportive team environment where your professional growth is a priority, and your contributions are valued.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Advising clients on complex tax technical matters, including research and analysis of legislation and case law
• Providing commercial SME tax advisory support across a broad client portfolio
• Reviewing income tax returns, provisions and taxation consulting work
• Identifying and addressing tax risks, including understanding and applying relevant independence rules
• Drafting management letters in conjunction with Partners, delivering practical and commercially sound advice
• Supporting clients through transactions, restructures and ongoing advisory needs
• Advising clients on M&A transactions including structuring of transactions and conducting tax due diligence in conjunction with the Partners and other tax specialists.
• Coaching and mentoring junior team members and developing future leaders within the team
• Delivering internal technical training and contributing to the development of new products and services
• Assisting with business development activities and strengthening long-term client relationships

About you:

• You are a technically strong corporate tax professional who thrives in a collaborative professional services environment
• 5-7+ years' experience in tax advisory within Professional Services (Manager level) or 8+ years (Senior Manager level)
• Previous experience managing, mentoring and developing junior team members
• Strong client relationship and project management skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• The ability to work autonomously while contributing positively to a team environment
• A proactive mindset with an interest in business development and client growth (particularly at Senior Manager level)

Qualifications:

• Essential Degree in Business, Commerce or Finance with an Accounting major Completed CA or equivalent qualification
• Desirable Double degree in Business / Commerce / Finance / Law Master of Taxation
