Project Planner / Scheduler Construction and Site Engineering Background Preferred Brisbane | Full Time | Occasional Site Travel
\n LOOP Project Controls is looking for an experienced Project Planner / Scheduler with strong construction knowledge and the ability to turn project scopes, drawings and delivery methodology into practical, logic driven programs that project teams can actually use.
\n This role would suit an experienced Planner or Scheduler, or a strong Site Engineer or Project Engineer looking to move further into planning and project controls , provided you already have experience using Primavera P6 or MS Project .
\n We are not looking for someone who has only updated existing schedules.
\n We want someone who understands how projects are built, can develop the construction sequence, build the program and then work directly with Project Managers, Engineers and Supervisors to refine and maintain it throughout delivery.
\n About LOOP Project Controls LOOP Project Controls is a growing project controls consultancy supporting clients across mining, civil construction, infrastructure and asset intensive industries .
\n We work closely with project delivery teams to provide practical planning, scheduling and project controls support that improves visibility, decision making and project outcomes.
\n Our approach is based on understanding how projects will actually be delivered and using that knowledge to develop realistic, practical programs.

The Role \n

As a Project Planner / Scheduler, you will work closely with project teams from the early planning stages through to delivery. You will be responsible for understanding the scope, methodology, sequencing, resources and constraints of each project and translating that information into a clear and achievable program.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Reviewing scopes, drawings, BoQs and construction documentation
\n
• Developing practical construction sequences and project programs
\n
• Building and maintaining schedules using Primavera P6 and MS Project
\n
• Developing schedule logic, durations, milestones, baselines and lookaheads
\n
• Incorporating quantities, productivity rates and resource assumptions into programs
\n
• Working directly with Project Managers, Engineers and Supervisors to understand how the work will be delivered
\n
• Identifying interfaces, constraints, delays and schedule risks
\n
• Monitoring progress and assessing changes against the project program
\n
• Maintaining accurate and practical project schedules throughout delivery
\n
• Clearly communicating key dates, sequencing, risks, constraints and changes
\n
• Presenting and discussing programs with project teams
\n
• Challenging assumptions where required to ensure programs remain realistic and achievable
\n
• Taking ownership of planning activities and proactively obtaining the information needed from the wider project team
\n

The role is Brisbane based , with occasional travel to project sites for introductions, project engagement and maintaining relationships with clients and delivery teams.

About You \n

We are particularly interested in people who have developed strong planning capability through hands on construction or project delivery experience .

You will ideally bring:

• Strong understanding of construction sequencing and methodology
\n
• Site Engineering, Project Engineering or construction planning experience
\n
• Experience interpreting drawings, scopes, quantities and construction documentation
\n
• Practical understanding of how construction projects are planned and delivered
\n
• Existing experience using Primavera P6 or MS Project
\n
• Strong understanding of schedule logic and programming
\n
• Confidence working directly with Project Managers, Engineers and Supervisors
\n
• Ability to communicate and present programs clearly to project teams
\n
• A proactive and independent approach to gathering information and solving problems
\n
• Ability to understand a new project quickly and develop a credible first pass program
\n
• Confidence asking questions, challenging assumptions and engaging directly with project teams
\n

The strongest candidates will be able to take a new project, understand the scope and construction methodology, determine the sequence of works and develop the initial program with minimal direction.
\n From there, you will engage with the delivery team to test assumptions, refine the program and ensure it remains practical and aligned with how the project will actually be delivered.
Strong construction knowledge is more important to us than simply having years of experience updating existing schedules.
