About the role

Geological Solutions is seeking enthusiastic and reliable Exploration Field Technicians to join our dynamic team on a variety of commodity projects across Queensland and New South Wales. These casual positions offer flexibility and the opportunity to work across diverse exploration and mining projects.

As an Exploration Field Technician, you will play an essential role in field operations, data collection and project delivery activities that directly contribute to the success of our clients' exploration and mining projects across coal, metals and bulk commodities. This is hands‑on work that requires attention to detail, reliability and a strong commitment to safety in dynamic field environments.

These roles provide an excellent pathway into the exploration and mining industry, with opportunities to gain practical field experience alongside experienced geologists and project personnel.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct fieldwork activities including, site inspections, site setup, general site maintenance and demobilisation.
• Operate and maintain field equipment and instrumentation, ensuring accurate measurements and reliable data collection
• Undertake soil sampling and assist with geological fieldwork
• Assist with drilling operations, sample collection, core handling, core mark‑up and sample dispatch in accordance with project specifications and safety protocols
• Maintain clear communication with project teams and ensure compliance with all health, safety and environmental regulations

What we're looking for

• Manual driver’s licence (essential)
• 4WD Certificate (highly desirable)
• Previous experience as an Exploration Field Technician or similar field-based role (highly desirable)
• Experience working around RC drilling rigs or exploration field programs (highly desirable)
• Forklift licence (highly desirable)
• Current First Aid/CPR qualifications
• Competency in the use of field equipment
• Excellent organisational and communication skills with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
• A genuine commitment to health, safety and environmental compliance.
• Physical fitness and the ability to work safely and effectively in remote and challenging field environments.
• Ability to successfully complete a pre-employment medical assessment.
