We’re seeking a compassionate and dedicated Registered Nurse to join our Oncology Centre in Rockhampton on a full-time basis .

\n

You’ll become part of a close-knit team of experienced nurses who are committed to delivering high-quality, best practice care in Radiation Oncology . Working alongside our multidisciplinary team, you’ll play an integral role in providing patients with a supportive and exceptional treatment experience. While prior experience in oncology nursing is highly regarded, it’s not essential. Our friendly and knowledgeable team is here to provide full support and training.

More specifically, you will:

\n

\n
• Provide excellent patient care, ensuring patient's physical and psychological needs are met.
\n
• Undertake direct patient care including education, wound management and medication administration as per Practice Protocol.
\n
• Effectively manage the patients that are seen each day.
\n
• Facilitate effective lines of communication with doctors, patient services, physicists and radiation therapists and provide feedback and up to date information regarding patients.
\n
• Ensure all patient interaction is documented, communicated and actioned.
\n
• Monitor and maintain procedures, protocols, practices and clinical guidelines in line with best practice radiation oncology nursing standards.
\n
• Ensure medication management protocols are followed.
\n
• Use ISBAR communication tool for handover of patients and communication with allied health services along with documentation.
\n
• Demonstrate reliability, motivation and flexibility.
\n

We're interested in hearing from people who:

\n

\n
• Have a current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
\n
• Hold a background in oncology nursing, but not essential.
\n
• Possess exemplary interpersonal communication skills with the ability to demonstrate empathy for all patients and their carers.
\n
• Have well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills.
\n
• Show commitment to the application of best practice principles and quality improvement including the NSQHS.
\n
• Demonstrate commitment to continuing professional development.
\n
• Are experienced in wound care management.
\n
